At Listen Up! we believe that every young person is a creative being and has the potential to develop their own unique voice through artistic expression.
Working with professional musicians, composers, poets, visual artists, teachers and communities,
Listen Up! provides elementary school students
the foundation for a lifetime of creative expression, arts appreciation and meaningful engagement.
Composer and arts educator Chris Thornborrow introduces the world of small ensembles,
choral music and the creative process to students and teachers in these interactive
videos that can be enjoyed in the classroom!
Listen Up! core program offers a year-long, in school residency. Students work with the Gryphon Trio and other professional artists to explore music composition, writing and visual arts – all culminating in a three-day intensive experience and a celebratory community concert.
Listen Up! artist mentors share activities
and tricks for engaging students in writing, singing and creative exploration,
through virtual workshops.

Chamber Factory is a registered charitable organization supporting chamber music performance, composition, and audience development by:Promoting the creation of new works of chamber music to be performed by Canadian ensembles;
Providing education and supporting the increased public awareness about chamber music across Canada’s diverse society through in-school residencies, composer workshops, and concert promotion;
Awarding grants or bursaries to qualified ensembles or individuals.
